Sr. Georgette Lehmuth, OSF has been President/CEO of NCDC since 2001. In this position she leads NCDC in its efforts to promote ethical fundraising and best practice. Sr. Georgette was named by the Nonprofit Times as one of the “Power and Influence Top 50” in the nonprofit sector nine consecutive times. Previously, Sr. Georgette has served on a number of nonprofit boards and in leadership of her religious order, The Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help of St. Louis, MO.
Sister has been engaged in postal regulatory and reform issues since she began working for NCDC and has testified before the Postal Commission. She also works collaboratively with other charities and nonprofits as an advocate regarding concerns and issues that impact charitable organizations, particularly in the religious sector.
She has spoken at both national and international conferences and presented workshops across the United States about mission-focused/donor-centered fundraising, emphasizing the importance of developing a culture of mission and a culture of philanthropy for the sake of viability of the charity. Sister strongly emphasizes that fundraising in the context of the Gospel is a ministry, which is a hallmark of the National Catholic Development Conference.
